2026 Annual Alexithymia Conference

We are pleased to announce that the Alexithymia Research International Alliance (ARIA) is organizing its 3rd Annual Alexithymia Conference on Thursday, May 7 & Friday, May 8 in Brussels, Belgium.

The two-day conference will feature keynote talks from international experts and we welcome submissions on associated topics including interoception, emotion regulation, emotion perception, aphantasia, emotional awareness and emotional complexity.

PROGRAM:

The conference will feature two keynotes, several individual talks, flash talks and thematic discussion sessions.

Keynotes:

  • Emotional Granularity: From Words to Numbers — and Back Again. Conceptualization, Measurement, and Future Directions by Dr. Yasemin Erbas (Tilburg Universiteit, Netherlands)
  • Addressing Emotion Regulation and Alexithymia in Clinical Interventions for Youth by Dr. Johan Bjurenberg (Karolinska Institute, Sweden)
